[ScryMUD]pfiles

Well as stated, I can preserve existing Pfiles but in order to achieve
balance everyone would pretty much need a complete stat flush. Too much
nerfing, etc. Bare handed damage for example is berserko nutts on most
people that have remorted several times. I'm open to alternatives but
they have to achieve the balance goal.

Another thing is that the skill/spell tree is being completely reworked.
It will be much more class-exclusive. i.e. Mages won't have things like
heal and sanctuary anymore. I'm not sure how I could work this in with
existing Pfiles without skill wiping everyone. Remorts that go through
mage, cleric, warrior of course will maintain their skills as usual.
It's just the path to learning things is going to be dramatically
different.

Along with this, all those "useless" skills, i.e. martial arts. Which
was useful 1 time ever in a characters existance (to up bhd) will now
vary in effect based on %lrnd. This means there will be a "good reason"
for remorts to go repractice things like that.

I'm very aware that there are severe complications and pains to both
myself and players with an "absolute wipe." I'd have to manually give
everyone their houses/shops back. Players use old eq that no longer
exists in the db, etc.

If you think people would prefer having their characters semi-preserved
with stats, level, skills reset to zero then I think that might work as
an alternative.

The issue isn't with people flaunting uberness, it's just that the
accidentally aquired uberness and unbalance just made the game
plain-ol-not-fun anymore. Bugs like the flame-blade dagger given to
Maedon via. a charmie and casting flameproof on oneself make it a
brain-dead riskfree kill 100% of the time. Now obviously that sort of
thing alone doesn't justify resetting everyone. It's the bugs that
affected players longterm stats, etc.
